Pros: VERY sturdy construction once you put it together. It's not like those other self-assembled desks that get all wobbly because you couldn't get the parts to fit in right or you just flat out don't know why it's wobbly. This desk will not disappoint you in that respect. The legs are metal and the "desktop" part is laminated particle board, but even for a particle board it feels very strong and won't scratch.Cons:1. When I was assembling the mini-hutch shelves - one of the wooden peg bits was going through the particle board when I was attaching pieces together and left a crack on the top part of the shelf. Kinda annoyed me but I figured it doesn't matter since my monitor and other things will be on there anyway.2. The shipping could be better. They really pack a lot of Styrofoam which is great but my biggest piece was chipped off on the corner - fortunately it was on the back side where nobody will see it - otherwise I would have taken it back.3. Wish there was a way to get keyboard and mouse cords to go to the back - I'm going to have to drill holes to do it. Instead I decided to upgrade to wireless mouse and keyboard to not have to do that. So consider that if you have wired peripherals.Overall - I like this product and am glad I chose it.Let me start off by saying that I have bought a lot of "assembly required" furniture - of all quality/price levels. I was super-impressed with this desk. I bought it specifically as an inexpensive option for staging my small home recording studio equipment, and this desk was more than up for the job.For the money, I wasn't expecting it to be as well-constructed and sturdy as it turned it out. Absolutely no wobble from the legs and the desktop feels like solid wood even though it is pasteboard/laminate. The instructions were extremely easy to follow; probably less complicated than building a Lego set. All of the parts are clearly labeled and the labels peeled off without leaving any residue (not a major point, but a very nice plus!) The only tools needed are an Allen wrench (included) and a big Phillips screwdriver. Easily constructed by one person.Pros:- Price- Stability- Ease of construction- Very spacious desktop- Excellent packaging assured no damage in shipmentCons:- Can't really think of any for my purposes (I use a laptop)- I suppose it wouldn't be suitable for a desktop PC, because there are no cable holes in the back of the desk, but it would be simple enough to drill a couple of holes for the cables (power, keyboard, mouse, printer, etc)Mostly this is fine. For the price I got what I expected, BUT it was damaged when I opened it (see photo) and it’s on the front side, so I can’t really hide it. DisappointingProduct came with all parts and instructions-easy to assemble. As mentioned in several reviews, product came chipped on the corners. This should be addressed with packaging since it has happened to multiple customers. It's not amazing, but you can't really beat it for the price. The top isn't real wood -- it's composite board with some type of thick plastic coating on top. It looks nice when it's put together. The first one I received was smashed up a bit, and Amazon overnighted another for me and arranged to have the defective one picked up at my apartment. It's not a small desk but it's not terribly large either, and it fits my small NY bedroom great. I would recommend it to anyone on a budget. But if you can spend a bit more and get real wood, do so!Very good working table: wood and other materials seem to be of really good quality.I have my (small) M-Audio monitors on the upper shelf and they fit OK. I wouldn't recommend using bigger studio monitors on top of the shelf. Lots of space if you have an iMac -- I use it with my laptop and still lots of space. Easy to assemble. For the price it is hard to beat. It's rather easy to assemble, not that many parts, but it does not have a tight fit. If you want a snug fit, that will require wood glue and clamps. Great for a dorm room or a spare office in the basement, but not show quality or anything close to that. It looks better if you put a computer or books on it rather than keeping it bare. Again, its hard to beat the price which is why its getting three starts verus one or two.The solder for the metal legs just completely snapped. I moved it gently to vacuum around the corner of the room the desk was in, and the X shape the legs are in turned into a messed up L. The desk collapsed and landed on my knee, managed to catch it before it completely fell to to the floor possibly break everything on the desk (picture frames, a vase). Even for the money, that is some awful quality. I expected the top to be particle board and assembly for the legs to be a little off. But the welding is just so weak, that's inexcusable and liable for a painful accident. Luckily it didn't hurt me too bad but I'd hate to think what it could've done, the top is really heavy so it packs a punch. The quality is good for this price point. It works well for my kid. He uses it to do his homework and keep a bunch of car models on display. The first shipment arrived with two chipped boards, the supplier sent me another another one right away. Good customer service. If you are looking for functionality and nothing fancy this is a good option for you.
